| In June 2008, I spent 11 days in Nicaragua. Why Nicaragua? Why Not?! It's a great destination right now. Friendly people, great food, lots of things to see, easy transport, and cheap prices. Along with my friend Dan, I spent several days in Granada and its environs, then moved on to Ometepe Island, San Juan Del Sur, Big Corn Island on the Caribbean side, and finally Managua. Along the way we hiked on two volcanoes, did some lake kayaking, lazed at two beaches (not counting Ometepe--too many bugs for real lazing there), and had some great food and drink.
